Frostiana Shadow Box by Pollocks
Availability: In stock.
Frostiana, The Little Tea Seller of Freezeland Street is the 4th in our series of Shadow Boxes to cut out and construct, illustrated by Simon Seddon. Frost Fairs were held on the Thames during the 17th and 18th centuries when the river froze over. 'Freezeland Street' was a 'carnival on the water' with puppet shows and coffee houses. Frostiana, the tea seller is named after a printed pamphlet that was sold as a novelty - 'printed on the ice'. 3 card sheets need to be cut out with scissors or a craft knife to consturct the simple shadow box which can then be framed or hung on the wall. The paper doll of Frostiana comes with accessories such as tepots, gingerbread, port, mutton pies, a fox and bird. She is placed in a Thames icy landscape to complete the picture. This design was commissioned by Fortnum and Mason for their Christmas Shop 2014 and so is an exclusive to them and us.
B&W, A4 4 sheets. Printed in the UK by Benjamin Pollock's Toyshop.
