Pollock's Diorama Card.
Proprietor and actor Peter Baldwin has been interviewed about the shop for tv, radio and publications. Recent features include: 'Mr Pollock's Theatre' with Simon Callow, BBC Radio 4 and The Financial Times, April 2006. We feature with favourable reviews in many national and international travel guides including London's Time Out Shopping Guide. We were named "Favourite Shop" by Time Out, December 2006 and included in London Style Notes by designer Sophia Kokosalaki on Style.com Jan 2007. We are also featured in a new travel book
Traditional Shops & Restaurants of London.
We have exhibited toy theatres at
the Maynard Leigh Gallery 2005 and Battersea Decorative Arts Fair 2006 and in 2007, we curated Mini Me, Kids' Fashion in the Boutique Era an exhibition of kids clothes from the 60s/70s in the doll room at Pollock's Toy Museum.
Mr Baldwin has loaned theatres from his collection to museums and galleries most recently the William West touring exhibition
from the John Soane Museum and the Bodleian Library.
Our theatres sold at the National Portrait Gallery
to accompany the exhibition of photographer Angus McBean.
Our toys, theatres and puppets are often used by sylists and recently have been used by Tatler, Sunday Times and The Sunday Telelgraph.
