Advice on age and difficulty level: The Hansel & Gretel Toy Theatre is sophisticated in its design but simple in construction. Whilst scissors or a craft knife and additional materials such as a cutting mat and steel rule will give you a very polished finish, the theatre is also suitable for beginners and younger children with supervision.

Our products are not suitable for children under the age of 3, unless clearly shown.

About Clive Hicks-Jenkins

Welsh artist Clive Hicks-Jenkins’ love of toy theatres has proved a lifelong inspiration for his successful creative career, which has also encompassed choreography, puppetry and theatre design.

Described by Simon Callow as ‘one of the most individual and complete artists of our time’, Clive has designed a toy theatre for Pollocks, thereby ticking off one of his life ambitions. His Pollock’s design forms part of his Hansel & Gretel opus which includes an illustrated darker version of the story for St Judes as well as a theatre production with words by Simon Armitage.
